Loved watching the character growth and transformation in this book. (Semi-spoiler alert...it happens in the first chapter..so get over it...The book goes on from there, but...) One brother gets dumped 4 days before a very expensive wedding, with guests coming from all over the world. Groom decides to go on the honeymoon with his younger brother. There is an age difference that, combined with busy lives...that has made their relationship distant. While traveling, they start out with all the formalities that kind of relationship brings. You witness growth, renewal of purpose, discovery of what is important and not important as these two men slip into a rhythm and really begin enjoy their trip, while learning to appreciate each other. There are some great tips for any traveler about how to find the non-Lonely Planet recommendations for finding a great local restaurant/site/favorite. Well written too. Franz and Kurt have put a face to some parts of the world that I have never even heard of, let alone visited.I thoroughly enjoyed listening to their travel tales, the places they went, and more importantly, the people they met.There is good everywhere, sometimes you just have to look for it.They have also learned a lot about each other, which is what the object ot the traveling was about anyway.I look forward to more adventures with them (if only vicariously). I wish I had the courage to sell all my possessions and travel the world, really seeing the people that I share it with face-to-face instead of in a news story or in the paper.I look at the world through a different pair of glasses since reading their memoir.The pictures are great too that are posted on the website.
